Bulgarian Agronomists on Exchange: Erasmus+ Visit to Mediterranean Agriculture and Agronomy of the Mediterranean

As part of the Erasmus+ mobility program, our University hosted Assoc. Prof. Haik Garabedian and PhD candidate Atanas Kalaydzhiev, M.Eng. from the University of Agronomy in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The guests visited the undergraduate program Mediterranean Agriculture and the graduate program Agronomy of the Mediterranean, where they became acquainted with the teaching and research activities carried out within these study programs.

During their stay, accompanied by Erasmus coordinator Assoc. Prof. Tatjana Klepo, PhD, our colleagues from Bulgaria toured the University’s new facilities, visited the experimental field in Glavice, and participated in the exchange of teaching and research experiences with our academic staff. Special emphasis was placed on sharing good practices in the field of sustainable Mediterranean agriculture and agronomy.

In addition to the professional program, the guests also had the opportunity to explore the cultural and historical heritage of the city of Split. Guided by Assoc. Prof. Klepo, they visited the historic city center, including Diocletian’s Palace, as well as other landmarks in the surrounding area, further enriching their visit both culturally and personally.

This mobility is just one step in strengthening cooperation between our University and the University of Agronomy in Plovdiv, and we look forward to future joint projects, exchanges, and all forms of academic collaboration made possible through the Erasmus+ program.
