On Thursday, January 15, 2026, the first meeting of the project team of the project “Valorization of Nutritional and Bioactive Components of Mediterranean Plant Species (Nu3Med)” was held, marking the official start of project implementation.
The project team consists of eleven staff members from the Agromediterranean Faculty and four staff members from the Faculty of Economics, University of Split, ensuring interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists in the fields of agronomy, food science, and economics. This approach enables a comprehensive assessment of the potential of Mediterranean plant species, from their nutritional and bioactive properties to their practical application and valorization.
During the meeting, the overall project objectives were presented, key short-term activities were defined, the work plan and timeline were agreed upon, and the foundations for the successful and coordinated implementation of the planned research were established. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration within the project team, knowledge exchange among partners, and timely communication as prerequisites for achieving project goals.
On this occasion, the official project logo was also selected, which will accompany all future project activities and communication with both the professional and the general public. The meeting was held in a constructive and motivating atmosphere, characterized by the participants’ enthusiasm and a clearly defined shared vision for the further development of the Nu3Med project.
